Lots of interesting stuff on the WantToKnow.info ‘10-Page Summary of 9/11 Facts From Major Media,’ some of which I don’t remember seeing before. The sources I checked were generally correct to what was synopsized here. Commenting on all would probably amount to several books, but just a few things specifically about some issues involving Muslims.
I don’t think bin Laden was involved. I base this on several things: The CIA used him as a leader against the USSR among the Mujahideen in Afghanistan; at least twice the President approved missions to go get him based upon intel regarding his location, but CIA shut the operations down; GHWB had an ongoing relationship with members of Osama’s extended family and business representatives (not much by itself, but in combination with the other facts, might add something worthwhile); there were at least two videos that were used to “prove” that Osama was behind the operation, one of a person who looked somewhat like him, but I was practically certain was not, and the other time by using a mis-translation (that was the single time he was alleged to have admitted involvement.) Finally, because he said more than once that attacking non-combatants was not “an appreciable act in Islam.”
Regarding Mohammed Atta and crew. They do not fit the profile of suicidal jihadists. They were bright and educated, they drank, danced and caroused, and IMO were set up by sending them to flight schools. They knew or should have known that learning to fly a single engine aircraft would be of no use to them in piloting wide-body commercial aircraft, which are flown by instruments and computer, not seat-of-the-pants — or fly-by-wire (look it up). If they were being handled to set them up, sending them to flight schools would be incriminating later, and it is apparent that no one in authority was the least bit concerned about immigrant Muslims learning to fly, because it was reported up-the-line by several agents but nothing was done, nor did it cause them to be carefully monitored. Finally, this is clearly just a guess, but I suspect that they thought they were on a 4-barrelled hijack operation, and although they knew it would be dangerous for them, did not recognize it as a suicide mission.
Also, Sept 12, 2001: “Senator Orrin Hatch says the US was monitoring bin Laden supporters and overheard them discussing the attack.”[AP, 9/12/01] We need to remember that bin Laden was a senior leader fighting against the Russians in Afghanistan. Many Muslim groups were among his “supporters.” The fact that some of them were talking about the 911 operation, or one similar, is a possible connection to bin Laden, that may not exist.
I do believe that important Saudis near or in the royal family were involved, but that they thought they were cooperating as a friend with individuals and entities that the official story does not blame.
One minor thing that’s just an aside to this: Several times there’s a phrase, “Bush thought” or “Bush said”; If a reference was to GHWB (“Poppy”) it cannot be believed because he was not reliably truthful (shocking!) and no one but he knew what he really thought about anything; if a reference was to GW, who I don’t believe had much more decision-making authority than Brandon, and what he “thought” was often quite irrelevant to the subject at hand.
Here’s more from a recent article at the same website:
Christopher Bollyn, an investigative journalist and author of several books about 9/11, gave a speech in 2018 that revealed who was behind the attacks on the World Trade Center. Bollyn says the people running our government and the media are complicit in the attack because they knew it was going to happen, did nothing to prevent it, and covered up the evidence. He says the purpose of the 9/11 attack was to justify the American War on Terror, which was a cover for using American forces to attack Israel’s enemies and make Israel the dominant force in the Middle East. According to former President Trump, the US spent $7 trillion dollars over 17 years to fund these wars. Bollyn said that everywhere he looked into the facts surrounding 9/11, he found the presence of Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency. This has triggered a bitter attack against him, claiming this proves he is anti-Semitic. His response is that these people are not acting as Jews but as political Zionists, which has nothing to do with race, ethnicity, or religion but everything to do with a New World Order based on the model of collectivism. [We agree with that appraisal and believe you will, also, when you hear Bollyn’s message. Our hope is to forge a coalition with the great majority of Jews who are just as horrified by the truth of 9/11 as we are and who will join with us to stop the hatred and end the wars.
Bollyn has been a bulldog since the fall of ’01 on this. Unfortunately for him and his message, his analysis of the role of Israel/Mossad increased the number of people who wouldn’t speak out in his support, because in a casual read it might look anti-Semitic. I don’t know whether he is right or wrong, but I think all of his best guesses are reasonable. I don’t remember the full package well enough to be confident that I don’t disagree with a few points, but there’s a lot about the surrounding events that makes anything more than a best guess impossible.
