The US Attorney General is acting out his vendetta-for-life against anyone he sees as being affiliated with Republicans or Trump supporters.
Following the death of Justice Antonin Scalia, Garland was nominated by President Obama to fill the vacancy. Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell blocked the Senate confirmation hearings Garland would have to pass before his appointment could take effect. McConnell claimed that it would be inappropriate to confirm a SCOTUS nomination in the final year of a President’s term.
McConnell was successful, clearing the way for Donald Trump to nominate Neil Gorsuch.
IMO, Garland will never get over it. Of course much of what Garland has been doing has been inappropriate, as to both law and precedent, but he doesn’t care. I think he’s shown that he’s determined to do anything he chooses in his mission to “get even.”
